University of North Carolina - Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)

Alumni of the program are making a difference in schools and classrooms and in the lives of young people. The M.A.T. program aims to be one of the best in the nation.

Grades K-12: English as a Second Language, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish

The Mathematics Education curriculum has become a content-oriented program that strives to achieve a balance between increasing subject-matter knowledge through appropriate core courses in higher-level mathematics and linking the content of these higher level courses with the relevant content, technological, and educational issues of the mathematics curricula in grades 7 - 14.

Grades 9-12: English, Latin, and Social Studies

Science Education courses are designed to provide teachers with relevant content in a way that meets their individual needs and backgrounds.

The Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) is designed to facilitate the earning of an advanced degree while also completing requirements for a North Carolina license to teach. The MAT is offered in:
